Welcome!
http://www.trainweb.com/tech/welcome.html
Welcome and thank you for deciding to host your web site at TrainWeb!
By now you should have received the essential information about your account via e-mail:
the URL (web address) of your web site, your user ID, your password, and a code that you can
use for a visit counter.
The rest of the instructions for gaining access to your web account and uploading files will
be found via one of the links below depending on which type of web site you have hosted on
the TrainWeb server:
Please click on the above link that matches your type of web address hosted at TrainWeb.
You will then be provided with instruction on how to access your web account at TrainWeb.
Those of you that created their website at TrainWeb more than 2 years ago might say:
"I have a non-commercial web site hosted for free at TrainWeb that does not have the
www.trainweb.org prefix. Which of the above account access and upload
instructions applies to my web site?" If your web site URL uses the prefix
www.trainweb.com, then you would follow the above instructions for
paying commercial websites that are using the www.trainweb.com prefix.
When we first started to offer free web hosting at TrainWeb in 1998, we were not using the
www.trainweb.org prefix. That is why some of you have websites hosted free with the
www.trainweb.com prefix instead of the www.trainweb.org prefix. Since that
time, we have split www.trainweb.com and www.trainweb.org onto two different web servers.
We wish to encourage all sites hosted free with a www.trainweb.com prefix to switch to
the www.trainweb.org prefix so that we can move your site to the appropriate web server.
Please click here if you are
ready to make this change now. In order to protect links and search engine pointers to your URL,
we will create a page at your old www.trainweb.com URL to automatically forward visitors to your
new www.trainweb.org URL. We will maintain these forwarding pages for at least 2 years.
We will also transfer all files from your old site to your new site and will assist in helping
you to resolve any problems that might be created by the move.
If your web site does not have a www.trainweb. prefix at all,
then you would follow the above instructions for websites that have their own unique domain name.
