If I told you to drive down the street until you got to the red car and then take a right turn, those instructions would work fine until someone moved the red car. Guess what? Someone moved the red car!
Some of you were given FTP access and upload instructions long ago. These instructions worked for you, but they were not really the best instructions that I could have given to you. They were like the red car in that they would work for you as long as nobody moved the red car. The recent upgrade of our web server moved the red car!
If you have been using FTP to connect to "web.liberty.com" and then using anything on "/drive2/" as your initial remote host directory, then you are definitely using obsolete instructions! The old instructions worked until we did the upgrade. People with the newer instructions were unaffected by the upgrade since their instructions were not hard coded to point to a specific drive on a specific web server. The TrainWeb server files are no longer on "web.liberty.com" and that is why older instructions that make specific reference to these items no longer work!
There are new upload instructions available that we have been giving out to new accounts for more than a year now. Please throw away the old instructions and use the new instructions that I am about to give to you.
You will still use the same "User ID" and "Password" that you have always used. Instead of using FTP to go to "web.liberty.com", you will set FTP to go to "trainweb.com". Do not put "www" in front of that. It is just plain "trainweb.com". Instead of setting your initial remote host directory to anything on "drive2", set it instead to: "/usr/home/???/public_html/trainweb/" where "???" is your "User ID".
The above instructions should work when you FTP into your web account to upload and download files. Even if you are not a paying commercial sponsor of TrainWeb, those are the instructions that you should use to access your web site since you do have a "www.trainweb.com" prefix in your URL instead of a "www.trainweb.org" prefix.
