This is one of the strangest places along the Sunset Limited. The train goes right down the middle of the street, practically through the front lawns of the houses along the way! From some of these photos, you can see just how close the train is to the houses. The red "Emergency Exit" decal on the window of the train can be seen in some of these photos and homes can be seen just a few feet beyond the window.
The photos in this slide show were taken in the mid-1990's by Steve Grande on his Amtrak travels throughout the nation. The size of the photos is purposely smaller as disk space was expensive and download speeds were slower at that time.
