Welcome to Amtrak's Twilight Shoreliner,the Northeast Corridor's
premier overnight train,operating along the East Coast between
Boston and Newport News and points in-between, including New York
City, Washington DC and Williansburg, VA. If you've never traveled
on one of Amtrak's overnight trains,you're in for some pleasant
surprise. We offer many amenities throughout the train for each
Class service. Best of all,passengers can watch the diverse scenery
and skylines of the Northeast Corridor roll by.

THE TRAIN ATTENDANT is on board to make your trip in Coach or
Custom Class as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Need a
pillow or blanket?Do you have a special need? Just ask!
THE SLEEPING
CAR ATTENDANT sees to needs of
passengers with Viewliner accomodations. This is the member of
the onboard staff who offers you personalized service such as
turning down you bed,leaving a bedtime book of chocolates and
making up your room in the morning. If you would like a wake-up
call,a morning newspaper,breakfast in bed,or if you just have
a question,don't hesitate to ask.
THE LEAD SERVICE
ATTENDANT is onboard to serve
our Coach passengers in the Cafe Car. The Cafe offersa good variety
of snacks and sundries and is open continuously throughout the
trip.
THE LOUNGE CAR
ATTTENDANT offers a variety of
snacks,sandwhiches and beverages for the enjoyment of our Custom
Class and Sleeping Car passengers throughout the trip. All food
and beverages are complimentary,of course,for our Sleeping Car
passengers.
THE CONDUCTOR
AND ASSISTANT CONDUCTOR are responsible
for the safe operation of the train,collecting tickets,making
announcements and working with Attendants to ensure that you are
comfortable. The Conductor has general charge of the train.
Finally, THE
ENGINEER is stationed in the locomotive
and is responsible for the safe operation of the train over the
railroad.
First Class Viewliner Sleeping Car passengers are pampered by
all amenities of Coach and Custom Class plus exclusive Dinette
seating,a hot morning shower,first-run,full-length movies and
four channels of music entertainment that can be enjoyed in the
privacy of a compartment or deluxe bedroom. As a Viewliner Sleeping
Car guest on Amtrak,all meals are complimentary. If you perfer
to have meals served in your room please ask the Sleeping Car
Attendant. If your trip takes you to New York or Washington, D.C.,
you may want to spend more time in one of the Metropolitan Lounges
located in these two stations. There you can enjoy a private waiting
area, complimentary non-alcoholic beverages,television telephones
and other amenities for First Class passengers only. Please stop
in and say hello! We hope you enjoy the extra amenities of our
Viewliner service. Feel free to ask the Sleeping Car Attendant
for a magazine,complimentary coffee,tea,juice,soda or bottled
water. First Class passengers' meals are complimentary. If you
prefer to have you meals served in your room, just ask your Sleeping
Car Attendant.
Amtrak hopes you enjoy your
stay on this state-of-the-art train car,which incorporates the
latest technology to offer a smooth,quiet ride and amenities only
available in this sleeper. Here a few tips for getting the most
from some of the room's features.
LIGHTING
A push panel controls the overhead light,wall light and individual
reading lights. You'll also find mirror light switches both on
the bottom and top of the mirror. The top switch lets you turn
off the mirror lights from the upper berth,which comes in handy
when your climbing into the upper berth at night. To further ensure
your safety in the dark,toilet and seat indicator lights come
on when the sink is down or the toilet is up.
COMMUNICATIONS
AND ENTERTAINMENT
In every room,the latest entertainment,as well as a link to the
crew,is at your fingertips. A convenient push panel has an attendant
call button and gives you control of channels showing Hollywood's
finest first run movies. Plus you can relax to the sounds of your
favorite music,from jazz and classical to the latest hits and
R&B.
CLIMATE
CONTROL
An individual climate control unit is in each room. Simply turn
the knob to the tempature you desire and technology will do the
rest. You also have two air circulation fans that let you direct
air anywhere you wish. There are also two adjustable air vents
on the window ledge.
SMOKING
POLICY
We regret that smoking is not permitted in the Sleeping Car rooms.
Please speak with your Attendant regarding the current smoking
policy on board this train. Thank you for your cooperation.
Each Viewliner Sleeping Car
has 12 double compartments, two deluxe bedrooms and a special
bedroom equipped for passengers with special mobility reqirements.
SHOWER
There is one shower per car and it is available to compartment
passengers.
COMPARTMENT
This room is designed for one or two passengers,with two comfortable
reclining seats on either side of an eye-level picture window
above for extra light. At night,the seats convert to a bed,and
an upper berth folds out from the wall. Each bedroom includes
a sink and toilet,and a shower is located nearby.
DELUXE BEDROOM
This private room provides extraordinary comfort for two adults.
It offers a sofa and armchair that converts to a wide lower berth
and comfortable upper berth. It also includes a private,enclosed
shower,along with a sink and toilet. Two Deluxe Bedrooms can be
combined into a Deluxe Suite for four.
SPECIAL
BEDROOM
This deluxe bedroom is equipped for passengers with special mobility
requirements,with ample space for a wheelchair. The Special Bedroom
provides a reclining seat and an upper and lower berth. An enclosed
shower,sink and toilet are accessible by wheelchair. Food and
beverage room service is also available for passengers with disabilities.
Coach Class customers can relax in the train's reclining seats,with
pillows and blankets for added comfort upon request. Food and
beverage service is available in the Cafe car throughout the trip.
In Custom Class, passengers receive extra roomy,guaranteed seating,plus
a complimentary newspaper,unlimited non-alcoholic beverages and
use of the Twilight Lounge Car, a place to make new friends over
a drink. As added benefit,our New York customers can use the Metropolitan
Lounge located in Penn Station. In this private waiting area,take
advantage of complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, televisions,telephones
and other amenities.
Passengers travel in Custom Class or in the Viewliner Sleeping
Car have exclusive use of the Twilight Lounge Car,the social center
of the train. The Twilight Lounge Car is a great place to meet
people or simply enjoy a change of scenery. The lounge section
features casual seating in an intimate atmosphere. Complimentary
snacks and specialty drinks are available during the Hospitality
Hour. The Lounge Car Attendant will announce the starting times
of these enjoyable on-board events.
