The following photographs are of the Santa Fe 3751 Steam Locomotive
both in San Bernardino on Sunday, January 10, 1999 and
at the Amtrak Redondo Yard on Tuesday, January 12, 1999.

First Steam up, Sunday Afternoon,
3:30 - 4:00 P.M. Pacific Time, January 10, 1999.
After long delays repairing a stubborn lubricator,
the crew moves into action to pull the blue flag and
ready the big Northern for a highball.
Out of hibernation, steam expands in the cylinders
for the first time in five years.
At walking speed, 3751 sends up fuel rich smoke as crew leans out.

Switcher and crew prepare to couple to 3751. Next they will cut off the tool car
and spot it in stall 20 and then come back for the 3751.

3751 will be spotted in stall 19.
