The ever-popular Railway Adventures Across Australia is airing on PBS stations at different times across the country as it nears the end of the first license period. According to series creator and Executive Producer, Richard S. Shaw, the original license terms expires July 31st, 2003, so stations have been broadcasting either the 2-hour special or full series of 6 one-hour episodes. "The program is popular with viewers and is good for the stations" says Shaw. "If enough viewers request the program, they may keep it on the air." "Like many Americans, I was fascinated with Australia, particularly during the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney" says Richard. "This program allows viewers to see the entire Australian continent as we travel by train, camel and riverboat. The Australians are friendly, the landscapes fantastic and the history is fascinating. It's been very rewarding for me and my Australian partner, Look Television in Sydney, to hear how much people have enjoyed this adventure down under". |
