Completion of new sidings at the Fullerton Transportation Center has created an
opportunity for owners to store their passenger cars in a visible, accessible, rail
oriented area. While not on tour, the cars can be used for day events.
Candidate cars must be operable and certified to run on the local rails, which are
owned by the BNSF, and to be pulled by Amtrak.
A use agreement must be signed with the City of Fullerton, at the current rates:
LOCAL CARS -- Cars permanently based in this area:
$200 per month, no occupancy
$10 per day for partial months
$50 per day in addition to the above for special events in the car, day use only
VISITING CARS -- Cars on tour or visiting the area:
$20 per day, no occupancy
$50 per day in addition to the above, occupied by tour participants only, for duration of stay
Electricity and maintenance water are available.

LOCATION:
The Fullerton Transportation Center is an active, historic location that includes
Amtrak, Metrolink, and BNSF traffic. Approximately 90 trains per day pass
through the area. The siding tracks are located adjacent to one of the three main
lines and the historic Santa Fe Depot, now serving as the Amtrak station. The
Transportation Center is in the downtown area, which offers a variety of shopping
and restaurant experiences. The Transportation Center is located about equally
between Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm.

There are 43 Amtrak and Metrolink passenger trains that serve the Fullerton Santa Fe Depot weekdays starting at 4:50 AM and ending at 10:22 PM. Since Metrolink does not operate on this line on weekends, there are a few less trains on Saturday and Sunday, though the last Amtrak passenger train departs after 11 PM on weekends. The Amtrak Ticket Office is staffed from well before the first Amtrak train to well after the last Amtrak train. The Fullerton Metrolink Station is heavily used by commuters who start to arrive at the station well before 5 AM on weekdays. The station is also heavily used by Amtrak passengers.
With the amount of activity at the station and the live 24-hour webcam, the sidings are almost under constant watch. We think you will be impressed with the area if you come to the Fullerton Santa Fe Depot to observe for a few hours. You will see the historic railroad setting of the sidings, the close proximity to historic downtown Fullerton, the activity in the area throughout the day, and the very clean station where signs of vandalism or grafitti are seldom ever seen.
