Operation Lifesaver Photos As each of us arrived at work today, we were wondering why there were so many police cars and motorcycles in front of the Fullerton Station. At about 10 A.M., a train pulled into the station that consisted of a Union Pacific locomotive, a BNSF locomotive, the Silver Lariat private dome car, a few Amtrak Amfleet cars and a Metrolink commuter rail car. The train was a special Operation Lifesaver consist "for gate crossing accident prevention." The Placentia and Los Angeles Sheriff Departments were participants in this event. The train will just be going back and forth between Fullerton and Lakeview in Anaheim. If you are able to access the TrainWeb RAILcams at www.RAILcams.com, be sure to check RAILcams 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 throughout the day until 2:00 P.M. or so. The Operation Lifesaver train will be back and forth to the Fullerton Station several times today. It was back into the station at 11:10 A.M. The final run is expected to return back to the Fullerton Station sometime between 1:30 and 2:00 P.M. However, they did mention at 11:10 A.M. that they probably only have time for one more round-trip. Click here for more information on Operation Lifesaver. TrainWeb expresses its appreciation to Officer Bill Wallis of the Fullerton Police Department for providing the above information about this event. |
