Amtrak Superliner Passenger Train Accommodations, including photographs and detailed descriptions of seats, rooms, train cars and services.
The above are pictures of my children Jodina and Sherica sharing an Economy Bedroom during our trip to San Jose over Thanksgiving, 1995. The bedroom is set up in its daytime configuration of two chairs facing each other with a fold down table in the middle. Also shown is my wife, Barbara, reading while relaxing in one of those roomy seats in the Economy Bedroom.
Some people like to put down the upper bunk even during the daytime. It doesn't interfere with the chairs at all unless you are very tall, but it does give you more space to place luggage or for one person in your party to take a comfortable mid-afternoon nap!
Above, you can see my laptop computer set up on the fold-out table in the Economy Bedroom. I have it plugged into the trains electric outlet so that I don't have to worry about the batteries running down. This is when I'm most productive about actually typing things up!
